João Pedro
They say that at the end of the works, when they were all at rest and the battalion already dispensed, he remained in the table singing his hymns, because he didn’t have much opportunity to do a work with his hinário...

- about João Pedro I know what was informed to me by the brother Alfredo, husband of Rosana Pereira, which by the way, in honor to the owner of the hinário, baptized his youngest son with the same name, and also the report of Eduardo Bayer, besides some information gathered in old e-mails of other brothers and sisters (Email sent by the brother Jaime Wanner).

First, Alfredo's words:

" João Pedro was a friend of Mestre Irineu, he was a Mr. of the black race, the same as our brother Germano Guilherme, a very sick person, and his hinário is the own brother’s cure process. João Pedro cohabited with the brother Leôncio Gomes. This hinário was recovered by the people of Rio Branco, and among them is the brother Eduardo Bayer Neto.

The hinário is named "Menino Jesus", and the document file that runs by the internet was typed and corrected by Alfredo, according with the work elaborated at that time, and that has a recording held in Votorantim - SP, where took part Washington, grandchild of Padrinho Wilson, Janaina, his wife, Luis Gurgel and Carlos Flora. I also have eight other different recordings of the same hinário, including one that is just instrumental.

This hinário is one of the pearls of the Santo Daime and it musically differs from the majority of the other hinários, usually used to healing works. It is, without a doubt, a beauty."

Eduardo’s account:

"João Pedro lived at the home of the president Leôncio Gomes, as an aggregate of the Gomes family, without his own family, and he could pass unnoticed as a simple 'colony pawn', since his merits didn’t show through external demonstrations but through his devotion for the teachings of Mestre Juramidam. I believe that the great majority of us would pass by him without giving to it much attention, interested just on knowing people of a bigger prestige...

In general I find the recording, as it was studied in the CEFLURIS, good enough, with some proviso just in the conducting and odd melody sentences in the second hymn: “Eu Andava no Escuro”…

Who managed to recover this hinário for Padrinho Wilson (and Francisco Corrente) who much craved for it, was actually “Profa”: Geovânia Correia Barros Cunha, sociologist from Maranhão who worked with me on the Cultural Foundation.

It seems that João Pedro wanted to let his hinário under the guardianship of madrinha Peregrina’s sister, Ms. Heloisa, but this one refused for being already the guardian of 'Cachoeira’s' hinário. Thence nobody knew for certain who kept it, until Geovânia located it with Ms. Maria Nunes, a teacher who lived in Estrada de Porto Acre and who, although not a habitué (due to the age), was a fardada from the old Mestre’s headquarters.

Very well then, for our surprise, Ms. Maria was the sister of Daíde (from madrinha Rita), and of Ms. Raíf, wife of Janjão and neighbor of Padrinho Wilson!

When we started to instruct this hinário I heard from the deceased Hotência, daughter of Leôncio Gomes and madrinha Peregrina strong arm, the comment that this hinário was greatly missed, although she had well kept in her memory the hymn Relógio de Luz”.

According to Luiz Paulino, João Pedro was single and suffered from elephantiasis, and his hinário wasn’t guarded by his family, that became evangelical.

According to Aloísio Martins:

They also tell that at the end of the works, when they were all at rest and the battalion already dispensed, he remained in the table singing his hymns, because he didn’t have much opportunity to do a work with his hinário...

They also tell that João Pedro’s history was one of the most beautiful that happened in the doctrine of the Santo Daime, achieving, thus, the Cure... I have a photo of him, and as soon as I get organized I am going to send it to you..."

João Almeida Jr. tells:

“It is important to stress the disturbed self-knowledge that the brother João Pedro suffered. He carried, together with our Imperial Master Juramidam, although practically silent, the great load of Imperial Prince; son of the Queen of the Forest, as well as the good Mestre Irineu. In between the cure of his foot (that for me was a “goat’s foot”…) and the salvation, he answered to the Virgin Mother that he preferred the Salvation."
